COVID-19

Preparedness Plan

GNN ’s COVID-19 Preparedness Plan follows the industry guidance developed by the state of Minnesota, available at the Stay Safe Minnesota website (https://staysafe.mn.gov), which is based upon Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines for COVID-19, Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MNOSHA) statutes, rules and standards, and Minnesota’s relevant and current executive orders. It addresses the following:

• ensuring sick workers stay home and prompt identification and isolation of sick persons
• social distancing – workers must be at least six-feet apart
• worker hygiene and source controls, including face coverings
• workplace building and ventilation protocol
• workplace cleaning and disinfection protocol
• communications and training practices and protocol

Ensure sick workers stay home:
Artists have been informed of and encouraged to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Artists will report any COVID-19 related symptoms or potential exposure to the owner. If exposed, Artists will quarantine for the required amount of time. Artists experiencing symptoms while at work will be sent home immediately.

Social distancing:
Social distancing of at least six feet will be implemented and maintained at all times. Partitions create additional protection between artist stations. To limit social gatherings of people, only clients with appointments will be allowed in the business. No friends or guests will be allowed in. The front door will remain locked during business hours to limit the number of persons in the shop.

Hygiene and source controls:
Basic infection prevention measures are being implemented at our workplaces at all times. Artists and clients are required to wash or sanitize their hands prior to or immediately upon entering the facility. Hand sanitizer dispensers are available at the front of the shop. Our client check-in station is cleaned/sanitized after each client. Face coverings are required to be worn at all times and must cover the persons nose and mouth. Workstations will be sanitized regularly and between tattoo sessions.

Building and ventilation protocol:
Operation of the building in which the workplace is located, includes necessary sanitation, assessment and maintenance of building systems, including water, plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. HEPA filter air purifiers are being used and HVAC filters are changed regularly.

Workplace cleaning and disinfection protocol:
Regular practices of cleaning and disinfecting have been implemented, including a schedule for routine cleaning and disinfecting of work surfaces, equipment, and areas in the work environment, including restrooms, break rooms, and check-in & check out stations. All surfaces are cleaned with CaviCide disinfectant cleaning products.

Communications and training practices and protocol:
This COVID-19 Preparedness Plan was discussed with workers upon reopening for business early June 2020. All workers and clients will also be advised not to enter the workplace if they are experiencing symptoms or have contracted COVID-19 either via email or a sign on the front door. The full plan document can also be found on our website.
